Located strategically on the oil route, the city has a deep seaport that was completed in 1962, which serves as the region’s main commercial harbour. Berbera Port is on the northern coast of Somalia and is located on the Gulf of Aden. The port is owned and operated by the Somaliland Authorities. In addition to an Oil Terminal the facilities can accommodate containers, general cargo and bulk cargo.
